辛酉永寧元年正月。相國倫使散騎常侍義陽王威逼奪帝璽綬。使禪位于倫。倫備法駕入宮。即皇帝位。改元建始。帝出居金墉城。惠帝弟齊王冏。成都王頴河間王顒。常山王又等。四月起兵討倫。斬孫秀等於中書省。迎帝於金墉城復位。賜倫死并收其子荂（妨無切）誅之。六月詔齊王冏為大司馬加九錫（九錫見王莾下）。常山王改封長沙。

In the xinyou year, the first year of Yongning, in the first month, Chancellor of State Lun dispatched Cavalier Regular Attendant Wei, Prince of Yiyang, to intimidate and seize the emperor's imperial seals, compelling him to abdicate in favour of Lun. Lun entered the palace with the imperial regalia and ascended the imperial throne, changing the reign era to Jianshi. The emperor moved out to reside in Jinyong City. Emperor Hui's younger brothers, Jiong, Prince of Qi, and Ying, Prince of Chengdu, along with Yong, Prince of Hejian, and Ai, Prince of Changshan, raised troops in the fourth month to launch an expedition against Lun. They beheaded Sun Xiu and others in the Secretariat, welcomed the emperor back from Jinyong City to restore him to the throne, ordered Lun to commit suicide, and arrested and executed his son Fu. In the sixth month, an edict appointed Jiong, Prince of Qi, as Grand Minister of War and granted him the Nine Bestowals (for the Nine Bestowals, see under Wang Mang). The Prince of Changshan's enfeoffment was changed to Changsha.
