華嚴經釋疏　釋元暢。魏滅教。歸宋來揚州。止明因寺。作華嚴經釋疏傳講迄今。暢其始也（僧傳）。

Commentary and Sub-commentary on the Avataṃsaka Sūtra: Śramaṇa Yuan Chang. When the Wei extinguished the teaching, he returned to the Song and came to Yangzhou, staying at Mingyin Temple. He composed an explanatory commentary on the Avataṃsaka Sūtra, which has been transmitted and lectured on down to the present; Chang was its initiator (Biographies of Monks).
