魏帝如魯祠孔子。選孔氏宗子一人封崇聖侯。奉孔子祠幸徐州白塔寺。寺有道登法師入滅。下詔傷悼。施絹千疋齋一切僧。京城七日行道（魏書）。

The Emperor of Wei went to Lu to sacrifice to Confucius, selecting one heir from the Confucius lineage to be enfeoffed as the Marquis Venerating the Sage to oversee Confucius's ancestral sacrifice. He visited Baita Monastery in Xu Province; in the monastery, Dharma Master Daodeng had entered cessation. He issued an edict grieving his demise, donating one thousand bolts of silk to provide a vegetarian meal for all monks, and practicing the Way for seven days in the capital city (Book of Wei).
