諱适。代宗長子。初封奉節郡王。為天下兵馬大元帥。廣德二年立為皇太子。在帝位二十六年。壽六十四歲（本紀）　建中（四）興元（一）貞元（二十一）。

His taboo name was Kuo. He was the eldest son of Daizong. He was initially enfeoffed as Prince of Fengjie Commandery and served as Grand Supreme Commander of the armed forces of the realm. In the second year of Guangde, he was installed as Crown Prince. He remained on the imperial throne for twenty-six years and lived to the age of sixty-four (Basic Annals).
