His taboo name was Kuo. He was the eldest son of Daizong. He was initially enfeoffed as Prince of Fengjie Commandery and served as Grand Supreme Commander of the armed forces of the realm. In the second year of Guangde, he was installed as Crown Prince. He remained on the imperial throne for twenty-six years and lived to the age of sixty-four (Basic Annals). [Reign eras:] Jianzhong (four years), Xingyuan (one year), Zhenyuan (twenty-one years).
