炎。穆宗第五子。初封頴王。先是文宗太子永薨無子。立敬宗子陳王成美為皇太子。及文宗崩。中尉仇士良等矯詔廢太子。立頴王為皇太弟即位。在位六年。壽三十二　會昌（六）。

[Personal name] Yan. The fifth son of Muzong. Initially enfeoffed as the Prince of Ying. Prior to this, Wenzong's Crown Prince Yong passed away without issue; Jingzong's son, Chengmei, the Prince of Chen, was established as Crown Prince. When Wenzong passed away, the Palace Commissioner Qiu Shiliang and others forged an edict deposing the Crown Prince, establishing the Prince of Ying as Imperial Younger Brother, who took the throne. He reigned for six years and lived to the age of thirty-two. Era name: Huichang (6).
