契丹太祖崩於天贊六年秋七月。在位十一年。太宗立。諱德光。太祖第二子。母曰述律氏。治二十二年。立晉滅唐。改契丹曰大遼。甞於所居大部落建天雄寺以奉佛。有契丹太祖阿保機像。

Khitan Taizu passed away in the autumn, in the seventh month of the sixth year of Tianzan, having reigned for eleven years. Taizong ascended the throne, his taboo name being Deguang, the second son of Taizu. His mother was of the Shulü clan. He ruled for twenty-two years, established Jin and extinguished Tang, and renamed Khitan to the Great Liao. He once built Tianxiong Temple at his primary tribal residence to revere the Buddha, where there was an image of Khitan Taizu Abaoji.
