高麗當唐之末其王姓高。唐莊宗同光二年。高麗遣使來中國。史失不記其王之姓名。至明宗長興三年。權知國事王建遣使者來。明宗封王建高麗國王。至是丙申年。高麗舉兵擊破新羅百濟。於是東夷諸國皆附之。有二京六府九節度百二十部焉。

Goryeo: toward the end of the Tang, its king's surname was Go. In the second year of Tongguang under Zhuangzong of the Tang, Goryeo sent an envoy to China; the histories failed to record the king's name. In the third year of Changxing under Mingzong, Wang Geon, provisional administrator of state affairs, sent an envoy. Mingzong enfeoffed Wang Geon as King of the state of Goryeo. By this bingzhen year, Goryeo raised troops and crushed Silla and Baekje. Thereupon all the eastern barbarian states submitted to it. It possessed two capitals, six superior prefectures, nine regional commands, and one hundred and twenty districts.
