春正月。閩拱宸都指揮使朱文進。閣門使連重遇弑閩王曦。召百官告之曰。太祖光啟閩國。今子孫淫虐其墜厥緒。天厭王氏。宜更擇有德者立之。眾莫敢言。重遇乃推朱文進。陞殿被兖冕帥群臣北面再拜稱臣。文進自稱閩王。諡閩主曦曰景宗。是年文進為其下所殺。凾首送於建州殷王延政。明年南唐兵取建州。延政降閩合五十年而國除。

In spring, the first month, Zhu Wenjin, Capital Commander of the Gongchen Guard of Min, and Lian Chongyu, Commissioner of the Palace Gate, assassinated King Xi of Min. They summoned the civil and military officials and announced to them, "Emperor Taizu gloriously founded the state of Min, but now his descendants are licentious and tyrannical, letting his line fall into ruin. Heaven is weary of the Wang clan; we ought rather to select a virtuous person and establish him." None among the multitude dared to speak. Chongyu then pushed forward Zhu Wenjin, who ascended the hall, donned the imperial robes and crown, and led the ministers facing north to bow twice and declare themselves subjects. Wenjin proclaimed himself King of Min and posthumously titled the Min ruler Xi as Emperor Jingzong. In this year, Wenjin was killed by his subordinates, who boxed his head and sent it to King Yanzheng of Yin in Jianzhou. In the following year, troops of Southern Tang took Jianzhou; Yanzheng surrendered, and after a total of fifty years, Min was extinguished.
