初周宿衛將趙匡胤（宋太祖也）戰北漢有功。至是以為定國節度使兼殿前都指揮使。匡胤表渭州軍事判官蘇州人趙普為節度推官。

Earlier, the Zhou Palace Guard general Zhao Kuangyin (who was Emperor Taizu of the Song) had achieved merit in battling the Northern Han. By this time, he was made Military Commissioner of Dingguo and concurrently Palace Command Chief Inspector. Kuangyin memorialized to appoint Zhao Pu, a military judge of Weizhou and native of Suzhou, as Judge of the Military Commission.
