春三月。哲宗即帝位。四月詔法雲秀禪師詣先帝神御說法。賜號圓通禪師。冬十月葬神宗永裕陵。詔淨因道臻慧林宗本。入福寧殿說法。賜臻號淨照禪師本號圓照禪師（僧寶傳）。

In the third month in spring, Zhezong ascended the imperial throne. In the fourth month, an imperial decree ordered Chan Master Xiu of Fayun to proceed before the late Emperor's spirit tablet to preach the Dharma, bestowing on him the title Chan Master Yuantong. In the tenth month in winter, Shenzong was buried at the Yongyu Mausoleum. An imperial decree ordered Daozhen of Jingyin and Zongben of Huilin to enter Funing Hall to preach the Dharma, bestowing on Zhen the title Chan Master Jingzhao and on Ben the title Chan Master Yuanzhao (Sengbao zhuan).
