In the Song, an imperial edict renamed Tianzhu Lingshan Monastery to Shisi Jianfu, bestowing it upon Empress Xiansheng Cilie, Lady Wu, for making ancestral offerings of incense and lamps. In the tenth month, winter, in the third year of Qingyuan under Emperor Ningzong, land was divined to the west of Lingyin, and Shisi Jianfu Monastery was completed, restoring the old plaque of Tianzhu. In the sixth month of the tenth year of Jiading, Military Commissioner of Qingyuan Army Wu Yan memorialized the court, saying: 'We request that Shisi Jianfu follow the institutional precedent of Upper and Lower Tianzhu, perpetually transmitting the Tiantai teachings and contemplation to all ten directions.' Thereupon an imperial order was first issued commanding Jingqian to open the mountain and serve as abbot (Stele inscription of the Wu Temple).
