In the Jin State, Great Master Haihui passed away. The Emperor and the Empress personally presented the relics and erected stupas at five sites, specially conferring the posthumous title 'Great Chan Master Foguo Youguo' (Buddha-Awakened Protector of the Realm). In the first month of the following year, Qinghui was bestowed the title 'Great Master Fozhi Huguo' (Buddha-Wisdom Defender of the Realm) and ascended the state preceptor's seat, specially granted a golden brocade saṃghāṭī robe, rare vases, braziers, and precious vessels. The Emperor and Empress personally performed the ceremony of touching his feet in prostration and presented the robe. Such reverent homage was unprecedented in antiquity (His biography).
