辛酉景定二年　壬戌三年。右相賈似道買民田為公田。直欲得一千萬畝歲入六七百萬碩。臺臣交章言。星變災異。公田不便。民間愁嘆。不平之所致。乞罷公田以答天意。賈相力辯之。自此公論頓沮矣（宋鑑）癸亥景定四年。

The xinyou year, the second year of Jingding [1261]. The renxu year, the third year [1262]. The Right Grand Councilor Jia Sidao purchased people's land to make it public land, outright wishing to obtain ten million mu, yielding six to seven million shi per year. The censorate officials submitted memorial after memorial, saying: "Astrological anomalies and disasters have occurred; the public lands cause hardship; the people are lamenting and groaning, brought about by such unfairness. We beg you to abolish the public lands to respond to the intentions of Heaven." Councilor Jia vigorously disputed this. From this point on, public opinion was abruptly stifled (Songjian). The guihai year, the fourth year of Jingding [1263].
