Taboo name Heng, the third son of Xuanzong. In the twenty-sixth year of Kaiyuan, he was installed as Crown Prince. In the sixth month of the bingshen year, An Lushan attacked and took Tongguan, and Xuanzong fled to Shu. The Crown Prince ascended the throne at Lingwu, changing the reign era to Zhide, which was in the seventh month. He honored Xuanzong as Retired Emperor. He renamed Fufeng as Fengxiang Prefecture. He reigned for seven years, dying at the age of fifty-two. Eras: Zhide (two years), Qianyuan (two years), Shangyuan (two years), Baoying (one year).
