Specially Bestowed National Preceptor Dayiba: He served the Imperial Preceptor Dasa-si-shu for thirteen years, listening to his discourses at his side and observing his morality and virtue from beginning to end. Having been molded and steeped for a long time, he flourished into a splendid vessel. As for the Vinaya and treatises of the Mahāyāna and Hīnayāna, as well as esoteric scriptures and texts numbering by the dozens, he received them all by mouth to ear and hand gestures, attaining that to which principle returns and that toward which practice aspires. Thus his fame extended across the two capitals and his Dao was honored throughout three reigns. He served the two holy sovereigns while they were in the princely mansions, exhausting his diligence for more than a decade, and gifts were bestowed upon him numbering in the tens of millions. Upon returning, he used what had been bestowed to enlarge his Buddhist monastery. An imperial decree additionally bestowed a golden seal and a galloping-courier ribbon with the title 'National Preceptor Hongfa Puji Sanzang Yousheng'. On the sixteenth day of the fifth month of this year, he transformed in the capital. Riding horses were provided to escort him back for burial in Chengji. He was seventy-three years old (Tongzai).
