諱碩德八刺仁宗嫡子也。在位四年。為御史太夫鐵失等弑於行幄。年二十一　帝天性至孝。仁宗不豫。每夜焚香泣告於天。願以身代。及崩哀毀過禮。寢服於地日歠一粥。至嗣位用法無私。果於誅殺。姦黨畏罪。遂搆大變。諡格堅皇帝。

His personal name was Shidebala, the eldest legitimate son of Renzong. He was on the throne for four years. He was assassinated in his travelling tent by the Censor-in-Chief Tegshi and others at the age of twenty-one. By his natural disposition, the Emperor was supremely filial. When Renzong was unwell, every night he burned incense and wept, praying to Heaven, wishing to offer himself as a substitute. When Renzong passed away, his mourning and grief exceeded the rites: he slept on the bare ground and sipped only one bowl of congee a day. Upon succeeding to the throne, he applied the laws without bias and was decisive in executing culprits. The treacherous faction feared their guilt and consequently orchestrated a great upheaval. He was given the posthumous title Emperor Gejian.
