名圖帖睦爾。武宗次子。明帝之弟也。初封懷王出居建康。以致和元年九月襲皇帝位。改元天曆二年。迎明宗於沙漠。明宗殂即位。

His personal name was Tugh Temür, the second son of Wuzong and younger brother of Emperor Mingzong. He was initially enfeoffed as the Prince of Huai and went to reside in Jiankang. In the ninth month of the first year of the Zhihe reign era, he assumed the imperial throne, changing the reign era to the second year of Tianli. He welcomed Mingzong in the desert; after Mingzong passed away, he ascended the throne.
