方國珍　黃巖人。亦名谷珍。兄弟四人。先因設酒詭殺其田主。事露拒殺捕者。官親往亦殺之。兄弟遂亡命於海者十餘年。乃掠漳州賊船寇漳州。維時文恬武嬉人寇即陷。自太不華墮計而死。勢日猖獗。竊據溫台明十二郡。十有八年。太祖龍興潛逃於海。既而內附。

Fang Guozhen was a man of Huangyan, also called Guzhen. There were four brothers. Previously, by deceitfully setting out wine, they killed their landlord; when the matter was exposed, they resisted and killed the constables. When an official went in person, they killed him as well. The brothers then lived as outlaws upon the sea for more than ten years. They then captured pirate ships of Zhangzhou and raided Zhangzhou. At that time, civil officials were apathetic and military men indolent; wherever the bandits raided, it fell at once. After Taibuhua fell into a trap and died, their power grew more rampageous day by day. They illegally occupied the twelve commanderies of Wen, Tai, and Ming for eighteen years. When Emperor Taizu arose like a dragon, Fang fled into hiding at sea, but subsequently submitted to the empire.
