辛卯十一年詔修河防。南北民兵十七萬修。及二百八十里。於黃陵岡得石人一眼。童謠云。石人一隻眼。挑動黃河。天下反。

In the xinmao year, the eleventh year, an imperial decree ordered the repair of the river dykes. A force of one hundred and seventy thousand civilian and military laborers from north and south carried out the repairs over a stretch of two hundred and eighty li. At Huanglinggang, they unearthed a one-eyed stone man. A children's rhyme had said: "The stone man has a single eye; stirring up the Yellow River, the world will rebel."
