明玉珍　隨州人。集鄉兵屯於青山。未幾降於壽輝。及倪文俊陷蜀。令玉珍守之。文俊死遂自據成都。蜀中郡縣皆附號夏改天統。

Ming Yuzhen was a native of Suizhou. Gathering local troops, he encamped at Qingshan. Shortly after, he surrendered to Shouhui. When Ni Wenjun captured Shu, he ordered Yuzhen to defend it. After Wenjun died, Yuzhen occupied Chengdu on his own; all the commanderies and counties of Shu submitted to him. He named his state Xia and changed the reign era to Tiantong.
