蘧菴法師　諱大佑。號蘧菴住持姑蘇北禪寺。詔為左善世。精究內外典籍。善天台賢首教義。有彌陀略解淨土指歸等書。行世。

Dharma Master Qu'an, whose taboo name was Dayou and style name was Qu'an, served as the abbot of Beichan Monastery in Gusu. He was appointed by imperial edict as Left Exalter of the World. He meticulously studied internal and external scriptures, and was adept in the doctrines of Tiantai and Xianshou. He authored works such as the Brief Explanation of the Amitābha Sūtra and The Purport of the Pure Land, which circulated in the world.
