扶宗法師　諱崇裕。字約之。毘陵陳氏子。母夢龐眉異僧叩門。托寓之兆而生。幼遇聖像即瞻禮之。從東林曉公為師。後謁徑山端公究明大事。端公云。此龍象器也。參斷崖義公廣智訢公。隨廣智住大龍翔寺左右十餘年。廣智對客大為稱讚。出世光孝禪寺香祝廣智。帝師錫以今號。遷於崇勝禪寺。洪武九年移主育王廣利禪寺。曾於鍾山廣薦法會。師列十大僧之位。以偈獻上覽之大悅。命之書天界寺額。賜食上前。上稱誠善知識也。生平瑞應甚眾云。是古德再來不及備錄。是年歿。塔於石耳峯下。年七十五。有三會語錄。

Dharma Master Fuzong: His taboo name was Chongyu, and his style name was Yuezhi. He was a son of the Chen clan of Wuling. His mother dreamed of an extraordinary monk with thick, bushy eyebrows knocking at the door with an omen of taking lodging, whereupon he was born. As a child, upon encountering sacred images, he would immediately gaze upon them in reverence. He took the Venerable Xiao of Donglin as his master. Later, he called upon Master Duan of Jingshan to thoroughly clarify the great matter. Master Duan said, 'This is a vessel of dragons and elephants.' He studied under the Venerable Yi of Duan'ai and the Venerable Xin, Guangzhi, attending upon Guangzhi at Dalongxiang Monastery for over ten years. Guangzhi praised him greatly before guests. He made his appearance in the world at Guangxiao Chan Monastery to offer incense in tribute to Guangzhi. The Imperial Preceptor bestowed his current title upon him. He was transferred to Chongshang Chan Monastery. In the ninth year of Hongwu, he was transferred to be abbot of Yuwang Guangli Chan Monastery. Once, at the Great Requiem Dharma Assembly at Zhongshan, the master was ranked among the ten great monks; he presented a verse to the Emperor, who read it with great joy, ordering him to write the temple placard for Tianjie Monastery and granting him food before his presence. The Emperor praised him, saying, 'Truly a good spiritual friend.' Throughout his life, auspicious omens were very numerous, and people said he was the rebirth of an ancient worthy, too many to record fully. He passed away this year and was stupaed beneath Shi'er Peak at the age of seventy-five. He left behind a collection of recorded sayings from three assemblies.
