丙戌五年。御書十二言曰。法祖安民。奉天行道。福善禍淫。頒示群臣。上製敬一箴。及註范浚心箴視聽言動四箴。頒賜大學士。更定大禮全書。為明倫大典。

In the fifth year, bingxu [1526], the imperial brush wrote twelve words: "Emulate the ancestors and pacify the people; respect Heaven and practice the Dao; bless the good and bring disaster to the licentious," which were promulgated to the ministers. His Majesty composed the *Jingyi zhen* (Admonition on Revering Oneness) and wrote commentaries on Fan Jun's *Xinzhen* (Heart Admonition) as well as the four admonitions on seeing, hearing, speaking, and acting, conferring them upon the Grand Secretaries. He revised the *Dali quanshu* (Complete Book of the Great Rites) into the *Minglun dadian* (Great Compendium of Clarified Human Relations).
