庚子七月。方士叚朝用。以燒煉術。進授紫府宣忠高士。術卒不驗。顧鼎臣崑山人。卒贈大保。諡文康　霍韜南海人。卒諡文敏。

In the seventh month of the gengzi year, the Daoist master Duan Chaoyong, on account of his alchemical furnace arts, was promoted and granted the title of Exalted Gentleman of Loyalty-Proclaiming of the Purple Palace; in the end his arts proved ineffective. Gu Dingchen, a native of Kunshan, passed away and was posthumously granted [the title of] Grand Guardian, with the posthumous title Wenkan. Huo Tao, a native of Nanhai, passed away and was granted the posthumous title Wenmin.
