丁亥　海瑞剛直清廉。執法持公。卒于官。贈太子少保諡忠介。遣行人護喪歸葬。士大夫醵金為斂。小民白衣冠泣送。百里不絕。

The dinghai year. Hai Rui was unyielding, upright, and incorruptible, enforcing the law and upholding justice. He died in office.
