丁未宣德二年。講孟子。講官言。太公以救民為心。伯夷以君臣之義為重。上曰。太公之心在當時。伯夷之心在萬世。
In the second year of Xuande, dingwei, the Mengzi was lectured upon. The lecturer said, 'Grand Duke [Jiang Ziya] took saving the people as his mind, while Bo Yi took the righteousness of ruler and minister as paramount.' The emperor said, 'The Grand Duke's mind was for his own time; Bo Yi's mind was for ten thousand generations.'
