Cakravartin in the language of Qi means "Flying Emperor," which is a wheel-turning king. The Dīrghāgama and the Dharmaguptaka Vinaya narrate the number of generations of wheel-turners very clearly, as has already been shown above. This record has compiled excerpts that are hard to trace. If relying on complete scriptures, one should take the Āgama as the standard. The Great Gautama clan is a lineage of pure excellence. The Great Skillful Means Sūtra says: "From the beginning of the kalpa onward, the ancestors of Śuddhodana succeeded one another in the main line as wheel-turning kings. In the recent three generations, they did not become wheel-turning kings, but became kings of Jambudvīpa."
