2.12

祐敬惟。佛生七日母昇忉利。三世如來莫不同然。摩耶積因託化誕聖。是以。既為天師而方味其乳。已入泥洹而還起致敬。欲報之德。於斯至矣。

I, Sengyou, reverently reflect: Seven days after the Buddha was born, His mother ascended to Trāyastriṃśa; this is the same for all Tathāgatas of the three times. Māyā accumulated causes to host His transformation and give birth to the sage. Therefore, even after becoming the Teacher of Devas, He tasted her milk; and even after entering nirvāṇa, she arose again to pay Him respect. The virtue of wishing to repay her reached the utmost here.
