（其四）開皇十八年四月十六日。佛隴僧眾方就坐禪。師現常形進堂按行。上座道修良久瞻奉。其年十月十八日。有海州連水縣人丘彪。晝發誓於龕。夜見僧排戶彪即起禮拜云。勿拜安隱無慮也。遶寺一匝彪隨後。奉尋出門數步奄然便失。當其月十二日。有海州沐陽縣人房伯奴衛伯玉。於智者舊室而見其形床事相如在。

(4) On the sixteenth day of the fourth month of the eighteenth year of the Kaihuang era (598 CE), just as the assembly of monks at Folong took their seats for meditation, the Master appeared in his ordinary form, entered the hall, and walked down the rows. The sthavira Daoxiu gazed upon him for a long time. On the eighteenth day of the tenth month of that year, Qiu Biao, a man from Lianshui County in Haizhou, made a vow by the niche during the day. At night, he saw a monk push open the door. Biao immediately rose to bow, but [the monk] said, “Do not bow; remain peaceful and without worry.” He circumambulated the temple once, with Biao following behind him; looking for him just several paces outside the gate, he suddenly vanished. On the twelfth day of that month, Fang Bonu and Wei Boyu, men from Muyang County in Haizhou, saw his form in Zhizhe's former chamber, where the couch and furnishings appeared just as when he was alive.
