（其五）開皇十九年十一月六日。土人張造年邁脚蹶。曳疾登龕拜曰。早蒙香火願來世度脫。仍聞龕內應聲。又聞彈指造再請云。若是冥力重賜神異。即復如初。造泣而拜戀慕忘返。

(5) On the sixth day of the eleventh month of the nineteenth year of the Kaihuang era (599 CE), a local named Zhang Zao, elderly and lame in one leg, dragged his afflicted limb up to the niche, bowed, and said: “Having early on received your incense and fire, I pray for deliverance in future lives.” He heard a voice answering from inside the niche, and also heard the snapping of fingers. Zao prayed again: “If this is unseen spiritual power, grant me another wondrous sign!” Thereupon [his leg] was restored as before. Weeping, Zao bowed, so filled with love and longing that he forgot to return home.
