As Dharmanandin's learning was superior and his religious reputation was prominent, Fu Jian received him with deep courtesy. Before this, the various scriptures in the central lands did not include the four *Āgamas*. Fu Jian's minister, the Administrator of Wuwei Zhao Zheng, wished to request the translation of the scriptures. At that time, Murong Chong had already rebelled and raised troops to attack Fu Jian, throwing Guanzhong into turmoil. Zhao Zheng's longing for the Dharma was profound, and he forgot his own person for the sake of the Way. He then requested the venerable Dao'an and others to gather monks of doctrinal learning in the city of Chang'an and invited Dharmanandin to translate the two *Āgamas*, the *Madhyama* and *Ekottarika*, as well as previously unproduced works such as the *Abhidharmahṛdaya* and the *Tridharmaka-śāstra*, totaling one hundred and six fascicles. Zhu Fonian transmitted the translation, and Huisong recorded it in writing. From summer until spring, traversing two years, the text was finally completed. When Yao Chang's bandits pressed near Guanzhong and people's minds were alarmed and endangered, Dharmanandin took his leave to return to the Western Regions, and it is not known where he ended his life.
