又有杜僧哀者，住在南岡下，昔經伏事杯度。兒病甚篤，乃思念恨不得度練神呪。明日忽見度來，言語如常，即為呪，病者便愈。

There was also Du Seng'ai, who lived beneath Nangang, who had formerly served Beidu. His son became critically ill, and he thought with regret of not having obtained Beidu's practiced divine incantations. The next morning he suddenly saw Beidu arrive, speaking just as usual. He immediately recited an incantation for him, and the sick boy was cured.
