The temple was more than one hundred li from the city of Luoyang. Every morning he went to various monasteries in Luoyang to attend midday meals, and at dusk he would beg a bowl of oil and return to the temple to light the lamps. This was his routine, never failing. There was a swift runner who wanted to follow Qiandule to observe his speed; running until sweat poured, he constantly struggled to keep up. Qiandule had him hold the corner of his kāṣāya; hearing only the sound of fierce wind, the man no longer felt weary and arrived at the temple in an instant. It was later unknown where Qiandule ended his days.
