Sang Yan, Garrison Cavalry Commander of Qi, was about to plot a rebellion and went to visit Zhi. Seeing him from afar, Zhi ran off and cried out loudly: 'Surrounding the Palace City, plotting rebellion! Cut off the head and slash open the belly!' Less than ten days later the plot was discovered. Yan fled to Zhufang, where he was captured, and indeed had his head cut off and his belly slashed open.
