Among [Xuan]gao's disciples, there were more than a hundred who could skilfully navigate the six gates [of meditation]. There was Xuan Shao, a native of Longxi in Qinzhou, who thoroughly studied the various dhyānas and had mastered supernatural powers. Water would issue from his fingers to supply [Xuan]gao for washing, and this water was fragrant and clean, far surpassing the ordinary. He often obtained unearthly flowers and incense to offer to the Three Jewels. There were eleven others who were as wondrously gifted as Shao. Shao later entered Mount Tangshu, shed his mortal shell, and passed away.
