齊竟陵文宣王聞風祇挹，頻遣三使，慇懃敦請，乃暫出京師。到第，文宣敬以師禮。少時辭還山，苦留不止，於是資給發遣。

Prince Wenxuan of Jingling of the Qi, hearing of his reputation with respectful admiration, repeatedly sent three envoys with earnest and pressing invitations, so that Ming briefly went out to the capital. When he arrived at the mansion, Wenxuan honored him with the etiquette due to a master. Before long he took leave to return to the mountain; though the prince bitterly tried to retain him, he could not stop him, and thereupon provided him with supplies and saw him off.
