13.44

時有道場寺釋法暢、瓦官寺釋道琰，並富聲哀婉。雖不競遷等，抑亦次之。

At that time there were Śramaṇa Fachang of Daochang Temple and Śramaṇa Daoyan of Waguan Temple; both had rich voices that were mournfully resonant. Though they could not vie with Tanqian and his peers, they were certainly next in rank.
