Later he returned to the capital and stayed at the Lingwei Temple. When Prince Xu of Yiyang went out to govern North Xu, he took Tanguang with him. When [Emperor Qianfei of] the Jinghe era lost his virtue, Yiyang rose in revolt; knowing that Tanguang had foreknowledge, he brought the Seven Luminaries (astrological chart) to consult Tanguang, but Tanguang closed his mouth and spoke nothing, and on account of this he was spared when the affair was settled. When Emperor Ming of the Song held a gathering at the Xianggong Temple, he heard Tanguang lead the chanting; the Emperor praised him, and immediately decreed to bestow upon him the three robes, a bottle, and a bowl. He later died in the temple at the age of sixty-five.
