7.72

時中興寺復有僧慶、慧定、僧嵩，並以義學顯譽。慶善三《論》，為時學所宗。定善《涅槃》及《毘曇》，亦數當元匠。嵩亦兼明數論，末年僻執，謂佛不應常住。臨終之日，舌本先爛焉。

At that time, Zhongxing Temple also had Sengqing, Huiting, and Sengsong, all of whom enjoyed renown for their doctrinal learning. Sengqing was adept in the Three Treatises and was revered by the scholars of his time. Huiting was adept in the *Mahāparinirvāṇa-sūtra* and the *Abhidharma*, and likewise served many times as a leading master. Sengsong was also well-versed in both the *Abhidharma* and the treatises, but in his later years he developed a perverse adherence, asserting that the Buddha ought not to be permanent. On the day of his death, the root of his tongue rotted away first.
