至建平四年四月，天靜無風，而塔上一鈴獨鳴。澄謂眾曰：「鈴音云：『國有大喪，不出今年矣。』」是歲七月勒死。子弘襲位。

In the fourth month of the fourth year of Jianping, the sky was calm and windless, yet a single bell on the stūpa rang by itself. Deng said to the assembly: "The sound of the bell says: 'There will be a great mourning in the state, within this very year.'" In the seventh month of this year, Le died. His son Hong succeeded to the throne.
