Śrīmitra frequently practiced dhūta austerities east of Shizigang. After he died, he was buried there. Emperor Cheng, mindful of his style and character, had a stūpa erected at the site of his tomb. Later, a śramaṇa from west of the passes came to travel in the capital and built a temple at the site of the tomb. Xie Kun of Chen Commandery sponsored and completed this work, and to commemorate what had occurred in the past, it was called the Gaoruo (High Seat) Temple.
