He first stayed at the Daolin Hermitage on Mount Zhong, where the śramaṇa Baozhi revered his dhyāna teachings, and the śramaṇa Senghan requested him to translate the Sūtra on the Contemplation of the Two Bodhisattvas Bhaiṣajyarāja and Bhaiṣajyasamudgata and the Sūtra on the Contemplation of the Buddha of Immeasurable Life (Amitāyus), with Han transcribing the text by brush. Regarding these two sūtras as secret arts for transforming obstacles and vast causes for the Pure Land, he savored and reflected upon them, circulating them throughout the Song state. Meng Yi of Pingchang admired his virtue and provided him with generous supplies. When Yi went out to serve as the governor of Kuaiji, he firmly invited him to go along, but he refused; later, he moved to rest in Jiangling. In the nineteenth year of the Yuanjia era, he traveled west to Min and Shu, propagating the Way everywhere, and students of dhyāna gathered in flocks. Later, he returned and died in Jiangling at the age of sixty.
