In the fourth year of Kaiyuan, bingchen, carrying Sanskrit manuscripts, he first arrived in Chang'an, and an edict was issued to install him in the South Cloister of Xingfu Temple. Subsequently, an imperial pronouncement ordered him to reside at Ximing Temple, where imperial inquiries and condolences were repeatedly conveyed, and the bestowed gifts were extraordinary. In the fifth year, dingsi, he received an imperial edict to translate at the Bodhi Cloister. Śubhakarasiṃha submitted a memorial requesting renowned monks to participate jointly in the Chinese and Sanskrit work. Commencing with the first title, he translated the one fascicle of the Method for Seeking Memory Retention of Ākāśagarbha; the śramaṇa Xida translated the spoken words, while Wuzhuo received with the brush and arranged the phrasing, which was then transcribed and presented to the palace. The Emperor deeply praised and admired it, and issued an edict ordering that all the Sanskrit manuscripts Śubhakarasiṃha had brought be submitted. Formerly, the śramaṇa Wuxing had journeyed west to India; after finishing his studies, when he set out on his return and had just reached Northern India, he died an untimely death. The palm-leaf manuscripts he had obtained were all kept in Huayan Temple in the capital. Śubhakarasiṃha and Dhyāna Master Yixing selected several manuscripts there, all of which were wondrous gates of dhāraṇī that had never been translated before.
