On the twenty-third day of the fifth month of the first year of the Shenlong era, an yisi year [705 CE], he recited one chapter from the Guanding bu (Abhiṣeka Section), titled Da foding rulai miyin xiuzheng liaoyi zhu pusa wanxing shoulengyan jing (Śūraṅgama Sūtra), translating it into a work of ten fascicles. Śramaṇa Migaśākyā (śākyā is a slight error; properly it is śākha, here meaning Yunfeng [Cloud Peak]) of Uḍḍiyāna translated the spoken words; Bodhisattva-precept Disciple Fang Rong of Qinghe, former Grand Master of Proper Consultation and Jointly Manager of Affairs with the Secretariat-Chancellery, served as scribe; and Śramaṇa Huaidi of Nanlou Temple on Mount Luofu in Xunzhou verified the translation. When Pramiti's translation work was finished, it happened that the king of his native country grew angry that he had unauthorizedly taken the scripture text out, and dispatched men to pursue and apprehend him; thus he sailed back to the west by ship. Later, when an envoy from the south entered the capital, the scripture came to be disseminated. Dharma Master Weique and Venerable Yan of Zizhong each composed commentaries explaining it.
