7.10

釋法慧。未詳氏族。出家住壽春曲水寺。蔬食長齊。不受嚫施。無貪無瞋。心行調善。布衣獘衲。不居房室止有繩床。在步廊下。誦法華經一部。誦時。口必有密光。看者。皆見照於檐宇。年七十五而終。即陳宣時也。

Śramaṇa Fahui's family background is not known. After leaving home, he lived at Qushui Temple in Shouchun. He kept a vegetarian diet, observed constant fasting, and did not accept donations. Free of greed and anger, his mental conduct was subdued and virtuous. Wearing plain cloth and tattered rags, he did not dwell in a room, but had only a rope bed under the veranda walkways. He recited the entire Lotus Sūtra. When reciting, his mouth always emanated a subtle light; those who watched all saw it illuminate the eaves of the roof. He died at the age of seventy-five, which was during the time of Emperor Xuan of the Chen.
