宋法持。居化度寺。修彌陀懺。願促閻浮之壽。早生安養。後小疾。雨淚悲號。祈垂接引。厲聲念佛不絕。忽見佛身丈六。立於池上。即自言曰。我已得中品生。西向而化。

Fachi of the Song dynasty resided at Huadu Temple and cultivated the Amitābha Repentance, wishing to curtail his lifespan in Jambudvīpa so as to be born early in Peaceful Nourishment. Later, falling slightly ill, he wept tears and cried out mournfully, praying to be received and guided, chanting the Buddha's name loudly without interruption. Suddenly, he saw the sixteen-foot body of the Buddha standing above the pond. He then said to himself: 'I have already attained rebirth in the middle grade,' and passed away facing the west.
