宋知禮。號法智。居南湖。述妙宗鈔。大彰觀心觀佛之旨。每歲二月望日。建念佛施戒會。動逾萬人。又撰融心解。明一心三觀。顯四淨土之義。後於歲旦。建光明懺。至五日召大眾說法。驟稱佛號數百聲。奄然坐逝。

Zhili of the Song, styled Fazhi, resided at Nanhu. He composed the Miaozong chao, brilliantly manifesting the import of contemplating the mind and contemplating the Buddha. Every year on the fifteenth day of the second month, he established an assembly for buddhamanasikāra and bestowing the precepts, which routinely gathered over ten thousand people. He also authored the Rongxin jie, illuminating the three contemplations in a single mind and revealing the meaning of the four Pure Lands. Later, on New Year's Day, he established the Bright Repentance. When it reached the fifth day, he summoned the great assembly to preach the Dharma, recited the Buddha's name rapidly several hundred times, and peacefully passed away while seated.
