The eulogy says: By using one's mind to be mindful of that Buddha, sentient beings and the Buddha are distinct. By relying on the ordinary mind to see the Buddha-mind, how could sentient beings and the Buddha be different? Because they are not different, one is free from duality; because they are distinct, one is free from non-duality. Being free from duality, one does not seek from without; being free from non-duality, this does not obstruct seeking rebirth. Furthermore, being free from duality, ordinary sentiments are thoroughly exhausted; being free from non-duality, holy understandings are entirely extinguished. For one who sees the Buddha in this way, all day in Sahā is all day in the Pure Land; thought after thought, Śākyamuni appears in the world; moment after moment, Maitreya descends to be born. This can truly be called seeing Amitābha! If it be otherwise, though meeting face-to-face, one is separated by ten thousand li of white clouds.
