宋善本。試華嚴得度。奉詔住法雲。賜號大通。後歸杭州象塢寺修淨業。定中見阿彌陀佛示金色身。一旦告門人曰。止有三日在。至期趺坐念佛。西向而化。

Shanben of the Song was ordained through examination on the Avataṃsaka Sūtra. Receiving an imperial decree, he resided at Fayun and was bestowed the title Datong. Later he returned to Xiangwu Temple in Hangzhou to cultivate pure karma. In meditative absorption, he saw Amitābha Buddha manifest a golden body. One morning, he told his disciples: "Only three days remain." When the time arrived, he sat cross-legged practicing buddhamanasikāra, faced west, and transformed.
